Swimgerie Swimsuits Make Grand Debut
With summer quickly coming, it won’t be long before you’ll be attending pool soirees or soaking up the sun on a beach vacation. And for the ladies, that leaves very little time to find the perfect swimsuit. It’s got to be sexy, cute, and of course, turn a few heads. Kind of like your lingerie. But you can’t wear that out to a party or to the beach—or can you?
Well, ladies, now you can, with a new collection of lingerie-inspired swimwear from Swimgerie. The brand’s first line of swimwear, the Noir Collection, is an all-black line of five glamorous, ultra sexy swimsuits that mix the sultry look of lingerie with the function of a water-durable swimsuit.
The collection includes Bondage Baby, Man-Eater, Foreplay, Twisted Love and Kimorthy. The tantalizing curves, see-through mesh, playful fringe and plunging necklines of these pieces create a flirty and feminine touch to these one- and two-piece mix-and-match swimsuits.
Until recently, Los Angeles-based Swimgerie owner and designer, Lilly Ghalichi had spent her days working as an attorney, occasionally dabbling in fashion design as a hobby. She created her own dresses and clothing for herself, but never earnestly entertained the idea of making a career of it. But a recent trip to Europe changed that.
While wearing one of her own lingerie-inspired swimsuits in France, Ghalichi said a couple of French girls were admiring her suit and asked if she was actually wearing lingerie, as they were. When she told them it was actually swimwear she made herself, that’s when the idea hit her.
“I realized at that moment that there’s this niche of girls going to pool parties, and they’re not really concerned about going swimming,” she said. “They just want to look good and look sexy. So I thought, why not create a line based on this whole lingerie appeal and market it.”
With Swimgerie, Ghalichi managed to capture that allure perfectly. The collection exudes seduction, allowing women to feel beautiful and glamorous whether they’re in the water or relaxing on a yacht.
“When a girl wears Swimgerie, I want her to feel as sexy as possible,” Ghalichi said. “I think I’ve created a product that women can be excited to wear in the same way that they’re excited to wear a new dress.”
Ghalichi said she plans on releasing two more collections this summer, the first being Le Femme, an ultra couture line of the brand, followed by Angelique, a collection of all-white swimwear pieces. By summer’s end, she’ll begin focusing on adding color and patterns to her sensual designs.
